Emphasising the state’s digital transformation goals, he said the specialised institution will serve as a national cornerstone for advanced technical learning, research and innovation.Just days prior, the CM revealed plans to set up an Architecture and Civil Engineering University on the campus of the Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (MIT). Prior to this, the CM also announced the establishment of a specialised Physics and Sciences University on the Patna Science College premises. These back-to-back mega infrastructure initiatives reflect the state govt’s aggressive drive to reverse student migration by providing niche, industry-ready specialisation locally, said an observer. On Tuesday, Karnataka chief minister D K Shivakumar announced the establishment of India’s first govt-driven Artificial Intelligence University, alongside a dedicated AI hub, with an aim to strengthen AI research, talent development and innovation.Shivakumar said the AI University will be developed on a 100-acre campus in Bengaluru, with regional campuses planned in Kalaburagi, Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad, Mangaluru and Mysuru.
