Gaya: Senior officials of the state tourism department on Monday reviewed ongoing tourism infrastructure projects in Gaya and Bodh Gaya and assessed preparations for the upcoming Pitripaksh Mela.According to a press release issued by district public relations officer Deepak Chandra Dev, the review team included tourism secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, director Udayan Mishra, joint secretary Pradeep Kumar Singh and Gaya district magistrate Shashank Shubhankar.The officials inspected development works and reviewed arrangements related to cleanliness, security, traffic management, basic amenities and other facilities required during the annual pilgrimage.They directed officials to ensure smooth and well-coordinated arrangements so that pilgrims arriving from across the country and abroad can access key religious sites safely and conveniently.The officials also stressed the need for effective coordination among all departments to provide visitors with a hassle-free experience during the mela.This year’s Pitripaksh Mela is scheduled to begin on Sept 25 and conclude on Oct 10. Authorities said efforts were being made to ensure adequate infrastructure and services for the large number of pilgrims expected to visit Gaya and Bodh Gaya during the event.
