Patna: At least six people suffered burn injuries after coming in contact with a live wire during the funeral procession of former mukhiya Zahida Khatoon in Bhagalpur district on Sunday.The incident triggered panic as several people carrying the bier collapsed on the road, leading to a stampede-like situation. Local youths alerted the power station and got the electricity supply cut off.The injured were rushed to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital with the help of villagers and ambulances.A local resident, Md Imran, said the funeral procession had started from Imampur panchayat around 10am and was heading towards a cemetery in the Habibpur police station area. Around 10.45am, the bier came in contact with a low-hanging power line near Habibpur Hospital.According to Habibpur police, Altaf Imran, 30, is in a critical condition, while several others are undergoing treatment.
