Margao: Former state Congress president Amit Patkar on Tuesday announced that a massive anti-drug awareness campaign will be launched in Curchorem soon after Ganesh Chaturthi.Patkar said that the town had turned into Goa’s “drugs capital” and said that the local MLA, BJP govt and the chief minister are responsible for Curchorem’s decline into the state’s drug hub.He said the campaign would first be rolled out in Curchorem in association with local schools, before expanding across the state.Curchorem is Patkar’s home constituency and the seat from which he is expected to contest the next assembly election.
