Patna: A driver constable of the Home Guard and Fire Services has been arrested for his alleged role in the Oct 1, 2023 constable recruitment examination paper leak case. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) said Janmejay Tiwari, who had been absconding for several days, was arrested from Majhiaon village in Bhojpur district on July 3 and sent to judicial custody.According to the EOU, Janmejay allegedly supplied answer sheets through cellphones to other accused. His arrest is linked to the recruitment examination held at Ram Krishna Dwarka College in Patna, where six candidates were caught cheating, prompting registration of a case that was later transferred to the EOU.During the investigation, police had earlier arrested constables Kamlesh Kumar and Om Prakash, along with Abhishek Kumar Singh, for allegedly sending answers to candidates through mobile phones.The recruitment examination was later cancelled after large-scale cheating and circulation of the question paper on social media during the test.In a separate case, the EOU also arrested Ramchandra Gupta, who had been absconding since 2020, in connection with a disproportionate assets case involving alleged forged land documents.
