Patna: Taking legal awareness beyond the courtroom and into the community, the SC/ST Cell of Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, organised outreach programmes at Mahauli in Patna and Abdullachak in Parsa on Tuesday, in collaboration with Nari Gunjan, headed by Padma Shri Sudha Varghese.The initiative focused on empowering community members by creating awareness about their constitutional and legal rights, govt welfare schemes, available opportunities, helplines and support mechanisms.The programme was conducted under the guidance and presence of Nidhi Kumari, assistant professor and faculty coordinator, SC/ST Cell, CNLU. A 16-member team comprising students and volunteers actively interacted with residents, listened to their concerns and provided preliminary guidance on possible avenues of support and legal remedies.The student team included Abhay Kumar, Divyanshu Shah and Priyavrat Choudhary from the 2023-2028 batch; Anchal Priya Anand, Niyati Arun and Anshu from the 2024-2029 batch; Krish Prakash from the 2025-2030 batch; and nine volunteers from the 2026-2031 batch.The SC/ST Cell said the outreach would not remain a one-time exercise. It plans regular follow-up visits to understand community concerns, facilitate access to govt support and strengthen awareness of legal rights.
