Patna: Bihar education department on Wednesday sent a requisition to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) for the recruitment of 32,388 teachers under the fourth phase of the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4), paving the way for another major teacher recruitment drive in the state.Education minister Mithilesh Tiwari said the move fulfilled the assurance given to teacher aspirants that a fresh requisition would be sent in July. He said the recruitment would help address teacher shortages and strengthen the quality of education in govt schools.According to the requisition, 3,847 vacancies have been earmarked for Classes I to V, 8,563 for Classes VI to VIII, 3,877 for Classes IX and X, and 16,101 for Classes XI and XII.Tiwari said the recruitment drive was part of the state govt’s commitment to creating employment opportunities for youth and improving educational infrastructure. He described the exercise as the first step towards the govt’s goal of appointing one lakh teachers over the next five years.“The education department has fulfilled its promise by sending a requisition for 32,388 vacancies. The recruitment will provide jobs to thousands of young people while improving teacher availability in schools,” the minister said.He said the department would ensure a transparent and time-bound recruitment process so that eligible candidates receive appointments at the earliest.Officials said the recruitment is expected to significantly reduce teacher vacancies across Bihar’s govt schools and strengthen classroom teaching at the primary, upper-primary, secondary and higher-secondary levels.
