Patna: Chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday reviewed projects worth more than Rs100 crore and identified under the ‘Bihar Gati’ as well as the Centrally-sponsored schemes, directing departments to speed execution and ensure completion within stipulated deadlines.The meeting was held at the Sankalp auditorium in Lok Sevak Awas, where officials presented progress reports on key works linked to the building construction, energy and sports departments, and Jeevika. Choudhary told officials that every project must be completed within the prescribed time frame while maintaining quality standards. He asked them to identify and resolve obstacles quickly, saying Bihar’s development pace needed to be accelerated further.The CM instructed officials to initiate necessary action for the construction of a science city at every district headquarters. The proposed facilities are intended to provide students and young people with modern scientific infrastructure in science and technology. He said students should not only develop interest in science and technology but also be connected with experimental and contemporary knowledge.Choudhary directed officials to expedite the remaining construction work of the State Sports Academy and the international-level modern cricket stadium at Rajgir.Reviewing the energy sector, he stressed the need to strengthen the electricity system and ensure prompt redressal of consumer grievances. He asked officials to hear public complaints at the local level and resolve them, while ensuring regular reviews and inspections of ongoing electricity-related works.The CM called for faster implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. He said the target of solarising 25 lakh houses should be achieved through Jeevika Didis, and women, especially Jeevika members, should be linked with the solar energy sector. He directed officials to extend benefits of solar schemes, including solar pumps, to farmers and rural households.During the review of Jeevika, Choudhary ordered expansion of their work area.
