Patna: Jayprakash Narayan International (JPNI) Airport has registered a significant improvement in global passenger satisfaction rankings, securing the 69th position worldwide in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Survey for Quarter II (Q2) of 2026, with a score of 4.92. The airport also emerged as the third-best performing airport among Airports Authority of India (AAI)-managed airports, highlighting its continued focus on improving passenger experience.The latest rankings mark a notable rise from 78th place globally in Quarter I (Q1) of 2026, when the airport had recorded an ASQ score of 4.88.The Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme, administered by the Airports Council International (ACI), is regarded as the world’s leading benchmark for assessing airport services. The survey is based on direct feedback from passengers and evaluates airports across multiple parameters, including terminal facilities, staff courtesy, security, cleanliness and ease of travel.Airport director Chandar Partap Dwivedi attributed the achievement to the collective efforts of all stakeholders associated with the airport. “This recognition is a matter of pride for Patna airport and reflects our commitment to delivering a seamless and passenger-centric travel experience. The steady improvement in our global ranking has been made possible through the dedicated efforts of every stakeholder, including AAI personnel, airline operators, CISF, ground handling agencies, concessionaires and housekeeping teams,” he said.The airport’s improved performance was driven by substantial gains across several passenger service parameters. The biggest improvement was recorded in entertainment and leisure options, which jumped from 3.75 in Q1 to 4.73 in Q2.Other notable gains included Wi-Fi service quality (3.89 to 4.46), availability of charging stations (4.52 to 4.89), and availability of flight information (4.81 to 4.87). scores also improved for value for money of transport (4.81 to 4.87), overall satisfaction (4.88 to 4.92), ease of finding the way (4.97 to 4.99) and walking distance inside the terminal (4.92 to 4.94).However, a few parameters witnessed marginal declines, including cleanliness (4.98 to 4.97), availability of seats at gate areas (4.98 to 4.97), and health safety (4.97 to 4.98) remained largely stable, with some other service indicators such as washroom cleanliness and ambience showing no significant improvement). Overall, the airport maintained exceptionally high ratings across most parameters, with several services receiving scores close to the maximum of five
