Patna: Reviewing the progress of projects worth more than Rs100 crore each, chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday directed officials to remove bottlenecks and ensure timely completion without compromising on quality.The projects, being monitored under the ‘Bihar Gati’ initiative, include the Kosi-Mechi river interlinking project, major road infrastructure projects and the health department’s campaign to make Bihar TB-free. The review meeting was held at the Sankalp auditorium at the CM’s official residence and was attended by senior officials of various departments.The CM directed officials to expedite the Kosi-Mechi interlinking project after the monsoon through better coordination with agencies concerned. He stressed regular monitoring and immediate resolution of issues. Other water resources projects reviewed included the North Koel reservoir project and the Mandai weir project.The CM also reviewed the status of three major road projects — the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata six-lane corridor, Amas-Darbhanga four-lane road and Kanhauli-Sherpur (NH-131B) six-lane road. He directed officials to speed up the removal of hurdles related to land acquisition, environmental and forest clearances, and administrative issues.“The completion of these projects will not only strengthen road connectivity but also boost economic activities in the connected areas,” he said.He also directed officials to raise Rs2,000 crore through corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds by coordinating with industrial houses and corporate bodies. The funds, he said, should be utilised for education, health, skill development, sports and women’s empowerment initiatives.Reviewing the TB elimination programme, the CM directed officials to conduct large-scale screening camps to identify patients, particularly in areas reporting higher cases. He also ordered the reactivation of all TB centres and reopening of closed centres, along with awareness campaigns up to the block, panchayat and village levels.Those present at the meeting included principal secretary to CM Deepak Kumar, chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit, development commissioner Mihir Kumar Singh and senior officials from departments concerned.
