Patna: Land encroachment, property disputes, tap water and law-and-order issues dominated CM Samrat Choudhary’s monthly Sahyog Shivir on Tuesday, where he heard grievances of around 181 complainants from across Bihar and asked officials concerned to take necessary action.The Sahyog Shivir is organised on the second Tuesday of every month for people whose complaints have not been addressed at panchayat and district camps.People from several districts, including Shankar Kumar from Saharsa, Pradeep Kumar Singh from Khagaria, Urmila Devi from Madhubani, Bibhuti Kumar Singh from Muzaffarpur, Kanti Devi from Nawada, Arun Kumar Singh and Vijay Kumar Singh from Aurangabad, Ramanand Kumar and Akhilesh Kumar Singh from Gaya, Priya from Jehanabad, Puja Kumari from Begusarai and Rajkumar Gautam from Munger, approached the CM with their grievances.Land-related complaints formed a substantial part of the petitions with people raising issues of alleged encroachment, possession disputes and difficulties in getting their grievances addressed at the block level.The CM asked officials to ensure that govt land freed from encroachment remained free from further encroachment. He also directed them to provide old-age pensions and ration cards to eligible applicants without delay.“No eligible person should be deprived of the benefits of govt schemes due to technical reasons,” Samrat said, asking officials to deal with the public respectfully and empathetically and ensure timely resolution of complaints.“The state govt is working with the resolve of public service, and ensuring prompt and proper resolution of every complaint is the govt’s top priority,” he said.Several complainants said they had been running from pillar to post for years without getting their grievances resolved. They welcomed the initiative, saying some pending complaints, including those concerning public interest, were addressed after being lodged on the Sahyog portal.During the interaction, Samrat asked officials to examine the cases and take appropriate action according to the rules. Officials accompanying him took note of the complaints and directions issued during the interaction.The Sahyog Shivir also allowed people from districts far from the state capital to directly raise their concerns with the CM.Deputy CM Bijendra Prasad Yadav, chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit, principal secretary to CM Deepak Kumar, DGP Vinay Kumar, CM’s secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh and secretaries of the departments concerned were present.
