“It’s a wonderful time to be a woman. Our closets are full of variety of clothes, today’s woman is a global woman. From cocktail dresses to lehenga cholis, jeans to saris, bikinis to salwar kameez, from all the options that are available to us today why would you tie your brother a rakhi in your bikini/undergarments? Where are all your styling options? Ha ha the advert looks intentionally creepy!” she wrote. The advertisement had already sparked a debate on social media, with several users criticising Kriti’s outfit and other elements of the campaign. One user on X questioned the absence of traditional elements associated with Raksha Bandhan, writing, “Where is Puja Ki thali? Where is Tilak?”Another criticised the outfit, writing, “Who dresses like this on rakhi ?”Kriti has not issued any statement on the criticism or Kangana’s remarks so far.(With agency inputs)
