Patna: The health department has launched a statewide campaign to improve cleanliness, maintenance and patient facilities at govt health institutions, with painting, minor repairs and other identified works to be completed by Oct 31.Named ‘Seva Sankalp evam Kayakalp Abhiyan’, the campaign covers 36 district hospitals, 56 sub-divisional and 49 referral hospitals, 342 community health centres, 110 primary health centres, 844 additional primary health centres, 147 urban primary health centres and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, according to a health department release issued on Monday.Funds for the works during the current financial year have been released through the bank accounts of Rogi Kalyan Samitis and Jan Arogya Samitis.The department has directed district magistrates and civil surgeons to ensure that the identified works are completed within the deadline. Regular monitoring and review of progress have also been mandated. The works will primarily be funded through the Digital Health Incentive Scheme (DHIS) and other available funds, while Jan Arogya Samitis will identify priorities based on local requirements.In rural areas, the health department will coordinate with the rural development department for infrastructure and beautification works under the Vibrant Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) VB-G-RAM-G. These will include construction of boundary walls and toilets, soil filling, campus beautification and plantation.Health minister Nishant Kumar said better healthcare facilities for citizens were a priority for the govt. “Our aim is to ensure that every person visiting a health centre gets a clean, well-maintained and convenient environment,” he said.Health secretary Kumar Ravi directed officials to complete the works by Oct 31 while maintaining quality. He stressed regular monitoring and proper utilisation of funds, saying timely implementation and quality of work should receive equal attention.
