Patna: Union minister and LJP(RV) chief Chirag Paswan on Monday sought a thorough investigation into allegations of harassment involving one of his party’s ministers in connection with an alleged incident at a Delhi hotel, saying the party would not protect anyone found guilty.Chirag said the allegations were serious and the accused would be removed from the state cabinet as well as expelled from the party if found guilty.“I urge the Bihar govt to conduct a thorough investigation. An explanation has been sought from the minister within the party forum. He has presented his version before the party and has filed a defamation suit against the accuser,” Chirag told mediapersons in Patna.He said the strictest possible action would follow if the investigation established the minister’s guilt. “I would not shield the accused even if such allegations were levelled against any of my own family members,” he said.Chirag also appealed to the hotel management and the alleged victim to come forward with their versions. He said the matter should not remain confined to allegations and counter-allegations and the facts must emerge through a proper inquiry.The controversy began after Janshakti Janata Dal chief and former Mahua MLA Tej Pratap Yadav made allegations on X against the minister. Tej, who lost the 2025 assembly election from Mahua, alleged the minister had misbehaved with a woman employee at a Delhi hotel and she had strongly resisted the alleged misconduct.Tej further claimed the matter was hushed up after the woman was allegedly paid a substantial amount. The minister has denied the allegations and initiated legal proceedings, including a Rs 50 crore defamation case against Tej.Chirag said an impartial investigation was necessary to establish the truth.
