Nepal Floods: 288 Indians Uncontactable, 21 Rescued So Far, MEA Shares Key Updates | Watch
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal provided an update on Indian nationals stranded and uncontactable amid devastating floods in Nepal. According to the MEA, 288 Indian nationals remain uncontactable, including 73 people working at the Trishuli-1 Power Project. Several groups of Indian travellers from Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala and other states are also stranded in different parts of Nepal. Jaiswal said 21 Indian nationals from Tamil Nadu have been rescued, while around 200 people stranded on the Chinese side have sought assistance for evacuation. India has also stepped up humanitarian support, sending two aircraft carrying eight tonnes of medicines and one tonne of food items to Kathmandu. Overall, India has sent 47.5 tonnes of emergency supplies to support Nepal’s rescue and relief operations.
