Bhagalpur: The prohibition, excise and registration department, Bhagalpur, completed the auction of 13 vehicles seized and confiscated under the Prohibition and Excise Act of 2016.The auction was held at the departmental office under the supervision of a special vehicle committee comprising the district supply officer, accounts officer, additional district transport officer, motor vehicle inspector and assistant commissioner (prohibition), Bhagalpur, to ensure a transparent process.Earlier, the committee had completed legal clearances, fixed reserve prices and published notices and the standard operating procedure (SOP) on the official portal for the public auction of seized cars and bikes in the first week of Aug 2026.Bhagalpur DM Alankrita Pandey said the auction generated Rs 1.5 lakh for the govt treasury. She said the action was an important step towards effective implementation of the Prohibition and Excise Act and proper disposal of seized and confiscated govt assets as per statutory norms and the SOP. She added that further action would continue as per the rules.
