US-based CNH Industrial is planning to invest around ₹1,000 crore to double its tractor-manufacturing capacity in India by 2030. The move is also expected to increase its market share to around 10 per cent in the country.
The company will also spend an additional ₹1,000 crore in the next five years in product development and R&D, said Narinder Mittal, President and MD, CNH Industrial (India).
“Currently, we have a tractor-production capacity of 70,000 per annum in India. We are planning to increase it to around 1.4 lakh by 2030. We will be setting up a greenfield plant, which will be close to our existing plant in Greater Noida. For this, 100 acres of land has already been allotted to the company, which is planning to invest around ₹1,000 crore for the upcoming plant,” Mittal told businessline.
Aiming for a bigger pie
The company, which sells tractors under the brand “New Holland” in India, currently has around 5 per cent market share in terms of volume. “We aim to be in double digits in four to five years. In India, currently, we are No. 6. With the increase in market share, we should be among the top four tractor makers in the country,” Mittal said.
“We will also invest around ₹1,000 crore in product development and R&D. We are working on bringing in a lot of new products for the export markets. In India, we have four R&D centres,” the MD said.
In India, CNH manufactures CASE brand tractors for Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and other global markets.
The company sold around 48,000 tractors in the domestic market and exported 10,600 in 2025. “This calendar year, we should be doing more than 50,000 tractors for the domestic market, and more than 11,000 tractors for the export market,” Mittal added.
