Every dist HQ to get park, road named after Mookerjee: CM

Patna: Chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday announced a massive statewide infrastructure and renaming initiative dedicated to the memory of Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder and former Union minister Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee.Under this new directive, every district headquarters across the state will have an important park or a prominent road constructed or renamed after the iconic leader.Making the announcement through a post on X, the CM paid rich tributes to Mookerjee on the occasion of his birth anniversary. In his social media post, Choudhary described Mookerjee as a visionary “Yugpurush” who made the ultimate sacrifice for national integration and the cause of an undivided India.The CM wrote on X: “I pay my humble respects to the great patriot and the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, who gave a new direction to India’s unity, integrity and national consciousness.”“Important parks or roads will be constructed and named in the district headquarters in the name of the epochal figure Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, who made the supreme sacrifice for an undivided India,” the CM wrote in another post on X.This policy decision follows a related declaration made by the CM a few weeks earlier. On June 23, while paying tributes to Mookerjee on his death anniversary, he announced that a grand, state-of-the-art park named after Mookerjee would be developed in the state capital. This flagship memorial park is scheduled to be completed and officially dedicated to the public on June 23, 2027.
