Patna: The Bihar govt has issued posting orders for newly-appointed 446 senior resident and tutor doctors across govt medical colleges and hospitals in the state.A press release issued by the health dept on Saturday said the doctors, recommended by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB), have been appointed under the provisions of the Bihar Medical Education Service Rules for a tenure of three years. Officials said the appointments cover several key departments, including anaesthesiology, biochemistry, dentistry, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and other specialities.The newly-appointed doctors have been posted at major institutions, including Patna Medical College and Hospital; Nalanda Medical College and Hospital; Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital; Shrikrishna Medical College and Hospital, Muzaffarpur; Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital, Bhagalpur; Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital, Gaya; Bhagwan Mahavir Institute of Medical Sciences, Pawapuri, and govt medical colleges and hospitals at Purnia, Bettiah and Chhapra.Postings have also been made at Shriram Janki Medical College, Samastipur, Jananayak Karpuri Thakur Medical College, Madhepura, and other medical institutions across Bihar.Health department officials said the posting process was carried out with an emphasis on transparency. The preferences of doctors were obtained before finalising their postings, and allocations were made after considering their choices, administrative requirements and public interest. Special care was taken to accommodate disabled doctors, officials added.“Appointment of 446 senior resident and tutor doctors is a major step towards strengthening specialist care, medical education and training in Bihar’s govt health institutions,” health minister Nishant Kumar said.
