Panaji: Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said Goa Ujjwala Yojana was an annual scheme and urged people to submit their forms.Sawant said that as promised in his budget speech, state govt will soon increase the amount of Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) and the Griha Aadhar Scheme.He said govt has authorised sarpanchs, secretaries, MLAs and others to verify the forms and confirm that applicants are alive.The CM said state govt had organised a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026 in Goa to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public service.He said that forms are available with MLAs, panchayats, and municipal councils. Sawant said that govt will release the first installment for those forms which have been cleared on Thursday.The chief minister said that two categories of forms have been distributed to the beneficiaries — category A forms have been provided to the beneficiaries of DSSS and Griha Aadhar Scheme. Category B forms are for women who are not beneficiaries of any govt scheme.Sawant said that govt has never cancelled other schemes in case a new scheme has been introduced or took back money deposited under other schemes. “Beneficiaries of the Goa Ujjwala Yojana can remain assured that their existing benefits under other govt schemes will continue without any interruption,” he said.Sawant said from Sep 17 to Oct 17, 12 different programmes will be held in the state and govt will highlight the work done by govt in the last 25 years. He chaired a meeting to execute the programme and it was attended by MLAs, ministers and others.Sawant said that under the Ashirwad Ka Diya programme on Sep 17 people should light a lamp at their house to show that they are with Modi. He said that those who are beneficiaries of Modi govt schemes will light the lamp.The CM said that a school-level drawing competition would be held to show the difference between what was earlier in Goa and what has changed in Goa under BJP govt.He said that an elocution competition would be held on the theme of viksit Bharat and viksit Goa and along with other programmes. Sawant said people of the state should participate in large numbers in the programme.
