Patna: Top NDA leaders, including CM Samrat Choudhary, BJP national president Nitin Nabin and party state chief Sanjay Saraogi, ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Shrawan Kumar, HAM(S) national president and minister Santosh Kumar Suman, LJP(RV) state president and MLA Raju Tiwari, former minister Mangal Pandey and local MP Ravi Shankar Prasad among others conducted a roadshow as the NDA threw its full weight on the penultimate day of campaigning for the July 30 Bankipur assembly byelection.The roadshow began at 3pm at Bhattacharya Mor and passed through Kadamkuan vending zone, Thakurbari Road, Rupak Cinema and concluded near Mona Cinema Hall.CM Samrat, who had addressed public meetings in the constituency earlier, said the people of Bankipur stand with the NDA and the BJP, and this time too, Neeraj Sinha will win the seat by a massive margin. “BJP workers in Bihar work tirelessly throughout the year while others come and go like changing seasons,” he said.Nitin said people have complete faith in the development done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “I believe the people will further strengthen the momentum of development that we have established in Bankipur. Some people enter the electoral fray only when elections are due. In contrast, our party workers are dedicated to serving the people of the constituency every single day. Bankipur is my home, and reaching my home is not that easy. This time, we are going to set a new record from Bankipur,” he said.RJD working president Tejashwi Prasad Yadav also held a roadshow while Jan Suraaj’s Prashant Kishor, who is contesting his first election, held a series of meetings as the campaigning will end on Tuesday. Nitin also conducted a door-to-door campaign on Sunday, while Tejashwi joined the campaign for the first time on Monday.Tejashwi, along with Rekha, held a roadshow from the main election office in Mithapur and asserted that the RJD candidate’s victory is certain this time. He also said Prashant is not even in the race. His roadshow covered Chandpur Bela, Sipara, Bigrahpur Postal Park, Chiraiyatand and Goriya Toli-Lalji Tola before reaching Sabzibagh. He also launched a scathing attack on CM Samrat Choudhary and his govt over the alleged police brutality on students and FIRs lodged against them during their protests in the state last week.Meanwhile, Jan Suraaj state chief Manoj Bharti said the state’s chief electoral officer has assured that no non-govt or semi-govt employees, including Jeevika Didis and Anganwadi workers, would be deployed for the Bankipur byelection.
