The ‘Ramayana: Rise of a Legend’ world premiere took place early this week and the reviews are slowly making their way onto social media. After early reviews unanimously hailed the film for its scale and spectacle, with many comparing it to ‘The Lord of the Rings’, a new review spilling details about the film and its scenes featuring leading man Yash is now making their way online. The portrayal of Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari‘s ambitious two-part epic has been one of the film’s most intriguing aspects, with many keen to see how the filmmaker brings the character’s 10-headed look to the screen. One reviewer who attended a premiere show offered a glimpse into how the makers have approached the demon king’s iconic ten-headed form.
Ravana’s 10-headed scene teased
In a video posted online, he praised the actor for exploring different facets of the character, describing his performance as ‘different and fresh’. Speaking about Yash’s performance, the reviewer said, “Yash got a chance to really show some range because there was the ten-headed thing. So when we were able to go inside of his brain and kind of see different parts of him battling each other, he kind of got to delve into these different characters, which was nice to see him doing something different. Because he’s mastered of course that very stoic character and seeing him mix these up was something different and fresh.”
Yash teases an unconventional interpretation of Ravana’s ten heads
Yash had previously hinted at the film’s distinctive interpretation of Ravana’s ten heads while promoting the project in the US. Although the actor refrained from revealing the details, he said, “It’s a very interesting interpretation that we have in the movie. I don’t want to reveal it.”He further teased, “When you watch it, that is going to be one of the most exciting parts of the film – how we are showing that he had ten heads is something very interesting.”Explaining the symbolism behind Ravana’s ten heads, Yash also suggested, “I think it is also about his capacity as an individual. He was the best at many things. He was really good at whatever he did, so that’s also a way to tell that he had ten heads. That’s basically the representation of the ten-headed picture that you always see about Ravana.”
