Buxar: Dumraon police on Wednesday recovered a teenage girl who had been missing for nearly one and a half months and arrested a youth accused of allegedly luring her away.Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid in a village under Chakki block and safely recovered the girl. The accused, identified as Saroj Turha, a resident of Mahadevganj under Brahmpur police station area, was arrested from the spot.According to police, the girl had gone missing from Dumraon around one and a half months ago. After failing to trace her despite extensive searches, her family lodged a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, a case was registered against Turha.Following the FIR, police teams carried out raids at multiple locations in search of the girl and the accused. On Wednesday, police received information that the girl was staying in a village in Chakki block. After verifying the input, the team conducted a raid and recovered her.The girl and the accused were brought to the police station for further legal proceedings. Her recovery brought relief to family members who had been searching for her for weeks.SHO Sanjay Kumar Sinha said the girl’s statement would be recorded before a magistrate under Section 164 of the CrPC. Further action in the case will be taken on the basis of her statement. The accused was later sent to judicial custody after completion of legal formalities.
