Gaya: A joint team of Gaya Police and the Special Task Force (STF) on Wednesday busted a mini gun factory operating from Budhaul village under Wazirganj police station area and recovered a cache of finished and semi-finished firearms, ammunition, machinery and tools. The owner of the premises was arrested.Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sushil Kumar said acting on a tip-off, a team led by Wazirganj SDPO Sunil Kumar Pandey raided the house of Manoj Kumar alias Manoj Mistry and unearthed the illegal firearm manufacturing unit.During the search, police recovered two single-barrel guns, one single-barrel musket, two pistols, a semi-finished pistol, 10 live cartridges, seven empty shells and six iron barrels. A large quantity of equipment used in firearm manufacturing, including a lathe machine, cutting plates, drill machines, welding machines, filler rods, grinding machines, iron springs, screws and files, was also seized.Police arrested Manoj from the spot. The SSP said further investigation is underway to verify his criminal antecedents, identify buyers of the illegally manufactured firearms and trace other members of the network.
