Patna: Major General Jitendra Singh, VSM, took charge as the 10th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Jharkhand and Bihar Sub Area at Danapur cantonment on Saturday. He succeeded the outgoing GOC and took over the responsibility of overseeing military affairs and administrative functions in the region.An alumnus of Sainik School, Rewa, and the National Defence Academy (NDA), Maj Gen Singh has served the Indian Army for over three decades. During his distinguished career, he has gained extensive experience in operational and strategic management along with capability development, a senior officer of the Danapur Sub Area said.Maj Gen Singh has held several important appointments during his military career and has contributed significantly to enhancing operational preparedness and organisational efficiency. He also had a brief stint as deputy managing director of the ex-servicemen contributory health scheme (ECHS) where he was involved in matters related to healthcare services for ex-servicemen and their dependents, sources said.
