Patna: A 28-year-old woman from Assam was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her rented accommodation in Patna’s Digha area on Tuesday morning, prompting police to investigate whether it was a case of murder or suicide.The deceased, Mighty alias Meena, had been living in a house on Road No. 12 for the past eight years and worked as a domestic help. According to her family, her marriage had been fixed a week ago.Police reached the spot after receiving information through the Dial 112 emergency service. The woman was found lying in her room with foam coming out of her mouth. Her body has been sent for post-mortem examination.Her brother-in-law, Chandan Thakur, alleged foul play, claiming that although she had been unwell for the past three days, nobody informed the family. He accused the landlord of involvement in her death.The landlord’s son, Rana Singh, denied the allegations, saying she had been examined by a doctor and was being cared for at home.Digha police station SHO Avinash Kumar said prima facie it appeared to be a case of suicide, though all angles were being investigated. He said no suicide note or poison had been found in the room.ASP (law and order-2) Komal Meena also visited the spot and said further action would depend on the investigation.
