Sasaram: Kaimur police have constituted an SIT and intensified the hunt for an absconding accused in the alleged murder of Army jawan Shatrughan Yadav, who was allegedly locked inside an SUV and set ablaze over a land dispute. The incident took place on Sept 9.Police have announced a reward of Rs20,000 for information leading to the arrest of the fourth accused, Dilip Yadav, and constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to track him down.The move came a day after Shatrughan Yadav was accorded a final farewell with full military honours. On Saturday, police released a poster carrying Dilip Yadav’s photograph and appealed to the public to share information about his whereabouts.Dilip Yadav, son of Mithilesh Yadav and a resident of Ramgarh, is wanted in connection with the case. Police said the identity of informants would be kept strictly confidential and eligible information would attract the announced reward. His photograph has also been circulated on social media to aid the search.According to the FIR, the incident took place on Sept 9 and was allegedly linked to a land dispute involving around Rs16 lakh. Shatrughan Yadav, son of Billu Yadav and a resident of Sahuka village, allegedly named the accused in his statement, on the basis of which the FIR was registered at Ramgarh police station.Police have so far arrested three accused, Virendra Yadav, his son Deepak Yadav alias Tiku, and Brajesh Yadav, and sent them to judicial custody. Dilip Yadav has remained absconding since the incident.Kaimur SP Shikhar Chaudhary on Saturday constituted an SIT headed by the Mohania SDPO to expedite the arrest. The team includes Ramgarh SHO Sumit Kumar, Avadhesh Kumar, SI Ravi Kumar Gupta, SI Shravan Kumar and constable Vikas Kumar.Ramgarh SHO Sumit Kumar said police teams were conducting raids at several suspected locations to trace the accused. He added that attachment and seizure proceedings would be initiated against Dilip Yadav’s property if he failed to surrender within a week.
