NEW DELHI: Heavy rain lashed Delhi-NCR on Monday, leaving several roads waterlogged and traffic moving slowly across parts of the region.IMD issued red and orange alerts for heavy to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds.Videos from Delhi, Gurgaon and Faridabad showed commuters wading through flooded roads, vehicles struggling to move and traffic piling up on key stretches.Here are 10 videos that capture the extent of the rain chaos across Delhi-NCR.
1. Students wade through knee-deep water in Sangam Vihar
Heavy rain left roads in Sangam Vihar waterlogged, with students seen making their way through knee-deep water.
2. Commuters wade through waist-deep water at Zakhira
Visuals from the Zakhira underpass showed commuters wading through waist-deep water. A child was seen navigating through the flooded stretch, while a mini-truck remained stuck and people dragged two-wheelers through the water.
3. Road turns into a river at Vatika Chowk
Water accumulated on the road at Vatika Chowk following heavy rain. In the visuals, people were seen pushing a car through the waterlogged stretch.
4. Waterlogging near New Ashok Nagar metro station
Heavy rain also led to waterlogging near New Ashok Nagar metro station, with commuters seen negotiating the inundated road.
5. Heavy rain lashes Parliament Street
Visuals from Parliament Street showed heavy rain and strong winds lashing parts of the national capital, with visibility affected during the downpour.

Rain lashed the area around Shivaji Stadium, with visuals showing water accumulated on the roads.

Heavy rainfall also affected Connaught Place, where visuals showed rainwater accumulating in the area.
8. Gurgaon traffic crawls on Delhi-Jaipur Highway
Heavy rain brought traffic on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway in Gurgaon to a crawl, with vehicles seen moving slowly through the waterlogged stretches.
9. Rain lashes Gurgaon, traffic hit on NH-48
Visuals from Gurgaon showed rain lashing parts of the city, while heavy traffic and slow vehicular movement were reported on National Highway 48.
10. Rain hits Faridabad
Rain also lashed parts of Faridabad, adding to the weather disruption across Delhi-NCR.
Flights diverted as rain disrupts Delhi operations
The heavy rain also disrupted flight operations, with 15 Delhi-bound flights diverted, including two international flights. 11 flights were diverted to Jaipur.The weather office had issued red and orange alerts for heavy to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and winds of up to 40 kmph.Heavy rain and thunderstorms were witnessed at isolated places across several parts of Delhi, including southeast Delhi, east Delhi, Shahdara, central Delhi, northeast Delhi, south Delhi, New Delhi, south west Delhi, west Delhi, north west Delhi and north Delhi.Between 8.30am and 11.30am, Chhatarpur recorded the highest rainfall in Delhi at 28mm, followed by Lodi Road at 24.6mm and Pitampura at 18.5mm, according to the IMD.Waterlogging was reported around New Ashok Nagar Metro Station, Burari, CR Park and Alaknanda, while parts of Gurgaon and Noida also reported inundation and traffic disruptions.
