Gaya: A 15-year-old boy, identified as Pankaj alias Banda Manjhi, was allegedly beaten to death by villagers at Jhaur village under Sherghati police station area on Thursday night on suspicion of theft. Police have detained two villagers for questioning.The victim’s mother, Muniya Devi, alleged that Pankaj was tied up and confined inside a house, where he was repeatedly assaulted.Sherghati SDPO Sandeep Kumar, along with other police officers, visited the village and supervised the investigation.“The postmortem report is awaited to ascertain the exact cause of death. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings. Anyone found responsible for the killing will face strict legal action,” the SDPO said.
