Patna: The Bihar Regiment Centre (BRC) celebrated the 47th Raising Day of the 15 Bihar Battalion with full military honours and patriotic fervour at the BRC parade ground in Danapur cantonment on Tuesday.The 15 Bihar Battalion was raised on Sept 1, 1980, under the command of then Lt Colonel Dayanand Malik. BRC commandant Brig Rakesh Kumar Bora said Captain R S Bucha of the 15 Bihar Battalion had received the ‘ Battalion Colours’ from the then Chief of Army Staff General K V Krishna Rao, marking a significant milestone in the battalion’s journey.“Over the years, the battalion has displayed exemplary courage, commitment and bravery during both peace and war situations. The soldiers of 15 Bihar Battalion have earned recognition for their valour and dedication on various battlefields while upholding the proud traditions of the Indian Army,” he said .Additional Director General of Assam Rifles and Colonel of the Bihar Regiment Major General Jai Singh Bainsla, Brig Bora, Group Captain Mirnal Ranjan, Lt Col Abhisekh Singh, Flight Lieutenant Pankaj and other senior Army and Air Force officers paid tributes to the battalion’s martyrs, a senior BRC official said.They recalled the supreme sacrifices and services rendered by the brave soldiers in the service of the nation.
