Patna: A six-year-old boy who drew attention during the BPSC TRE-4 protests in Patna met DGP Vinay Kumar at the state police headquarters on Sunday, seeking a judicial inquiry into the police lathicharge and alleging he was kept at a police station for around eight hours.The child reached Sardar Patel Bhawan with his parents and submitted a written complaint detailing the police action. He alleged he was not allowed to meet his parents during the period.After the meeting, the boy said he had submitted his letter to the DGP and hoped his grievances would be addressed. According to him, the DGP said he was leaving for a meeting and would read the application after returning.“I have faith in the DGP and hope I will get justice,” the child said. He also questioned the police action, asking, “My parents were beaten. Were they criminals?”The child had become a talking point during the agitation after photographs and videos showing him among the protesters circulated widely.Police, however, denied the child was detained during the Aug 25 protest. Police said some protesters moved towards a restricted area and attempted to break barricades, following which personnel spotted the child amid the crowd and moved him to a safe place to protect him from a possible stampede. He was later safely handed over to his family, police said.
