Bettiah: A 35-year-old man was allegedly murdered and his body dumped outside his house in broad daylight at Mundla village under Ramnagar police station in West Champaran district on Thursday, triggering panic in the area.The deceased was identified as Om Yadav. His maternal uncle, Arjun Yadav, alleged that Om was called out by Mukundar Yadav, Nanhak Yadav and Deepu Yadav over an old dispute. The trio allegedly killed him and later brought his body back in an autorickshaw and dumped it outside his house before fleeing.On receiving information, Ramnagar police reached the spot and sent the body to the subdivisional hospital in Bagaha for postmortem. A police team inspected the scene and questioned family members and villagers.Ramnagar SHO Mahendra Kumar said, “There was already a dispute between the deceased and the accused side and the matter is also pending before the court. Police are investigating this dispute as well as all other aspects of the case.”Police have launched raids to arrest the accused. The SHO said the actual reason behind the killing would become clear after their apprehension and completion of the investigation, including the postmortem report. Further action will be taken on the basis of the evidence that emerges during the probe.
