PATNA: BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi on Monday said the party accepted the Bankipur bypoll verdict ‘with bowed head’ and would conduct a serious review of why its candidate failed to receive the expected support.Reacting to the result, Saraogi said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party accepts the mandate of the Bankipur by-election with bowed head and respects the decision of the people. In the democratic process, the people’s verdict is supreme. We will seriously review why votes were not received. We will work with full readiness to understand the shortcomings and remove them.”He said the party would identify organisational and campaign-level weaknesses and take corrective steps after studying the voting pattern in detail.Saraogi stressed that the BJP would not question the credibility of the electoral process despite the setback.“Unlike opposition parties, we do not pin the blame for our defeat on constitutional institutions, EVMs, or the Election Commission. The BJP has full faith in democracy and constitutional arrangements and believes in correcting its shortcomings through introspection and review,” Saraogi said.
