Patna: Police on Sunday arrested three alleged drug peddlers and seized 105 packets containing around 60 grams of suspected smack during an undercover operation in Maner police station area.The operation was carried out near a roadside kiosk on Khaspur Ramchandra Path, following inputs received by police about alleged sale of smack from the spot. Police also seized four mobile phones, which they suspect may have been used in the alleged illegal trade.Police said a special team was formed after verifying the information. During the operation, some personnel allegedly posed as customers and approached the kiosk. After confirming the suspected transaction, the team carried out the raid and detained the three accused.Maner station house officer Rajneesh Kumar said the operation was planned based on specific information and the team managed to establish contact with the suspects before carrying out the action.The arrested persons have been identified as Johnny Kumar, Nitish Kumar and another Nitish Kumar, all residents of Chhitnawa village. Police said they were being questioned to trace the source of the suspected narcotics and identify others who may be linked to the alleged distribution network.Police are also examining the seized mobile phones for further leads. Officials said the investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of the alleged network operating in and around Patna.
