Patna: With just two days left before campaigning ends for the Bankipur assembly byelection, senior leaders of the NDA constituents BJP and JD(U) on Sunday reviewed the political situation and sought feedback on the mood of voters in the constituency.While former chief minister and JD(U) working president Nitish Kumar held a review meeting at his official residence, BJP national president Nitin Nabin undertook a ‘padyatra’ through several localities in the constituency.Interacting with reporters during the walk, Nabin recalled his long association with the area, his acquaintances, and the legacy of his father, late Navin Kishore Prasad Sinha, highlighting his family’s longstanding connect with local residents.

JD(U) working president and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Kumar Jha, who had visited the Mandiri Nala locality along with CM Samrat Choudhary on Saturday, claimed the alliance was receiving a positive response from voters.“Our feedback is that the popular mood is in favour of the BJP candidate, and the NDA will win the seat by a big margin,” Jha told reporters.The day’s key political activity was Nitish’s review meeting with senior JD(U) leaders, during which he assessed the party’s campaign, organisational preparedness, booth-level management and public outreach efforts.The meeting was attended by Jha, deputy CM Vijay Kumar Choudhary, ministers Shrawan Kumar, Ashok Choudhary, Jama Khan and Sunil Kumar, besides MLC Lalan Sarraf and JD(U)’s election in charge for the seat, Arun Manjhi (MLA).According to party sources, Nitish stressed effective booth management, regular communication with party workers and wider publicity of the govt’s developmental initiatives as the campaign enters its final phase.
