Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Thursday said those responsible for paper leaks would not be spared, asserting that any attempt to undermine the future of the country’s youth would not be tolerated.In a post on X, Choudhary said the youth were the country’s greatest strength and any attempt to undermine their dreams and future would not be tolerated. He assured that the strictest legal action would be taken against those involved in paper leak cases and that no guilty person would escape punishment.Sharing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message on the issue, Choudhary said the NDA govt was committed to protecting the future of the country’s youth. Modi had earlier stated that those responsible for paper leaks would face stringent punishment through fast-track courts.BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi said the Centre was ready for a detailed discussion in Parliament on issues such as the NEET-UG paper leak, but alleged that Congress, Rahul Gandhi and the opposition were avoiding the debate and attempting to create unrest in the name of student protests. He accused the opposition of trying to derive political mileage from students’ sentiments.Meanwhile, deputy CM Vijay Kumar Choudhary said anti-social elements who allegedly infiltrated Wednesday’s student protest in Patna and attacked legislators and journalists would be identified and punished. While reaffirming students’ democratic right to protest, he said those involved in violence could not be considered genuine students.“The govt will act on the basis of available evidence. Those who attacked MLAs and journalists will not be allowed to hide behind the protest movement,” he said, adding that strict action would be taken against anyone taking the law into their own hands.On the other hand, senior RJD leaders Alok Mehta and Kumar Sarvajeet criticised BJP legislators for allegedly creating a ruckus in the Assembly and humiliating MLA I P Gupta after he objected to student protesters being described as “goons”.
