Patna: The NIA recovered around Rs 12 lakh in cash and gold jewellery worth several lakhs after searching two flats at Sai Kusum Infinity Apartments in Chitragupta Nagar on Wednesday in connection with its probe into the bomb attack on the RSS office in Ranchi. The operation began around 1pm on Wednesday and continued till 3.15am on Thursday, lasting nearly 14 hours.The NIA team searched flat 1206, linked to Sandeep Gupta, a native of Bhojpur. The other flat, registered in a private company’s name, was locked. The agency also collected documents and electronic devices from the premises before leaving the complex early on Thursday.It was the second NIA search at the apartment complex within two days. During an earlier raid on Sept 8, around Rs 20 lakh in cash was recovered. The income tax department was informed about the recovery.The searches were part of the NIA’s investigation into the bomb attack on the RSS office in Ranchi. An accused in the case was arrested in Delhi, following which information gathered during the probe led the agency to the Patna connection. Based on these inputs, the NIA searched the flat and collected documents and electronic devices for further investigation.
