Rs 1L cr projects completed, underway in Kashi in 12 years: Yogi

Varanasi: Highlighting the scale of transformation in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency., chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said development projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore have either been completed or are underway in Kashi over the past 12 years.Speaking in Varanasi at the launch of the 9th National Nutrition Month, the CM said PM Modi has ensured that new technology and innovation reach Kashi while promoting development without discrimination.“Since 2014, the PM has worked with the vision of strengthening the foundation of the country, and its impact is visible on the ground today. Schemes for the poor, malnourished children, pregnant women and lactating mothers have become an important part of the governance agenda,” be said.He said the Prime Minister has set before the nation the goal of making India self-reliant and developed by the time it completes 100 years of Independence. This goal, he added, cannot be achieved from Delhi alone but must be built in villages, streets and at the grassroots level.“Anganwadi centres and schools of the Basic Education Council are important centres of this foundation,” he said.Describing Varanasi as PM Modi’s workplace, Yogi said Kashi is not only the sacred land of Baba Vishwanath but also the spiritual and cultural capital of the Sanatan tradition.He said PM Modi has preserved Kashi’s ancient identity while giving it a new form and recognition. “Today, Kashi, with a new radiance and a new form, is attracting the entire world,” he said.The CM said Kashi reflects a blend of tradition and modernity, adding that India’s development model must adopt modern facilities while staying connected to its roots.He said ongoing changes in nutrition and education are also part of this broader vision.
