Patna: Revenue and land reforms department secretary Jai Singh has asked officials concerned to complete the Bihar Special Survey and Settlement Programme by Aug 15, warning that negligence and delays will not be tolerated.Chairing a review meeting through videoconferencing on Friday, Singh assessed the progress of the survey in Arwal, Jehanabad, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai and Sheohar districts. Senior officials, including director of land records and surveys Suharsh Bhagat, attended the meeting.Singh asked settlement officers to complete all pending procedures by July 31 to ensure the survey is finished on schedule. He stressed the need for daily monitoring and immediate resolution of field-level issues.The secretary warned that accountability would be fixed for officials failing to meet the deadline or showing negligence.Describing the programme as crucial for making the state’s land administration system more transparent, organised and dispute-free, Singh asked officials to work in mission mode to achieve the target within the stipulated timeframe.
