Govt partners with 7 NGOs to improve learning outcomes in schools

Patna: State education department on Thursday signed MoUs with seven non-profit organisations to improve learning outcomes, strengthen teacher support and enhance school monitoring in govt schools from Classes I to XII.The agreements were signed at Govt Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, in the presence of chief minister Samrat Choudhary, education minister Mithilesh Tiwari and senior department officials.The partner organisations — Wadhwani AI, Khan Academy India, Pratham Education Foundation, EkStep Foundation, Pi Jam Foundation, Mantra for Change and Shikshalokam Foundation — will support the department in areas such as AI-enabled learning, classroom teaching, mentoring and school management.Tiwari said the organisations would help identify learning gaps, improve academic support and promote better use of ICT labs and smart classrooms. He added that the initiatives would be implemented using the organisations’ own resources, without any financial burden on the state govt.Under the collaboration, Wadhwani AI will focus on reading skills, Khan Academy India on mathematics and science, Pratham on foundational learning, while EkStep and Pi Jam will develop AI-based teaching resources. Mantra for Change will support mentoring and school review systems, and Shikshalokam will use AI-based tools to collect feedback from students, teachers and parents.Earlier, Choudhary launched Bihar School Live Classes, interacted with students and distributed certificates to meritorious students and sports kits to hockey players.
