Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Monday visited flood-hit areas in Vaishali and Saran districts, reviewed relief measures and inspected camps housing displaced families in Hajipur and Sonepur.At the relief camp near the Ganga Bridge police station in Hajipur, Choudhary reviewed arrangements, foods being served to inmates and checked their quality. He interacted with flood victims and sought feedback on food, shelter and other facilities. Residents said camp arrangements were satisfactory and that they were receiving adequate food.The CM also handed over ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the dependents of people who died after drowning in floodwaters.During the inspection, Choudhary visited the community kitchen, food distribution centre, registration-cum-control room, Anganwadi centre and education camp. He interacted with children, reviewed accommodation facilities for men and women, and assessed services being provided by the district administration.At the health camp, he directed officials to ensure immediate medical assistance to any ailing flood victim and stressed that no one should face difficulty in accessing treatment. He also inspected the veterinary camp and asked officials to maintain adequate stocks of medicines and ensure sufficient fodder for livestock.Later, Choudhary visited the flood relief camp at the Scout and Guide Centre in Sonepur, where he reviewed arrangements, interacted with inmates and shared a meal with them to assess food quality.Camp residents thanked the government for the facilities and said adequate arrangements had been made for food, drinking water and accommodation.Vaishali DM Varsha Singh accompanied the chief minister during the Hajipur visit, while Saran DM Baibhav Srivastava was present during the inspection in Sonepur.
